The Vinyl Effect, explores themes of psychology, mainly focusing on the theories of Carl Jung a psychologist who found analytical psychology and proposed the developed concepts of Extraversion and Introversion. It is a 49 piece display of Vinyl covers designed on the 4 Jungian categories; the shadow, the ego, the psyche and soul image. The project has been designed as a social experiment to see what image viewers are directly drawn too, once chosen the viewer can look up exactly what the image means on the website designed for the vinyl effect and see how the image relates to Jungian theory and what it reveals about their subconscious.
The experiment proved to work when viewers were asked to choose another Image they would subconsciously select an image that was part of the category of Jungian theory they had already identified with.
